Uncontested divorces are divorces where the parties agree on the terms of a divorce and the divorce goes through the court system without there being any disputed issues which must be resolved. This can be a much less costly legal procedure than with a contested divorce.

Sometimes individuals think they can be divorced on an uncontested basis when in fact their divorce is contested. This is because there may be unresolved issues, such as property distribution, spousal support, child support and child custody.

Please note that individuals contemplating a divorce should obtain legal advice from an attorney pertaining to their own situation. This is because each case involves legal issues and considerations that are specific to that particular case.
